SNS 'Inspired By' September

Last month my daughter and I went to London to 'see the sights' and watch "War Horse".
It was a lovely day!
First we went to see the wonderful ceramic poppy installation at the Tower of London.

I decided to use my photos from this visit to make my "September Inspired By" layout for SNS
This is the sketch...

And this is my layout...
I added a photo of a real poppy (taken at Ickworth NT property the previous day)

The following element is a copy of a card I made last November using a poppy die-cut.

My tags tell of how poppies have become synonymous with great loss of life in war, following the association with poppies flowering in the Spring of 1915 on the battlefields of  1915 of Belgium, France and Galipoli and include the words of John McCrae's poem

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

Our seeing of "War Horse" later seemed fitting!

Hope you will join us at Sketch N Scrap!

Happy Crafting!
